West Virginia DOT installs flood-resilient modular bridge system in 5 days
After repeated flooding cut off the only access to a rural community near Charleston, WV, the Department of Highways (WV DOH) turned to the InQuik Bridge for a resilient solution that required minimal equipment, limited road closure, and materials designed to resist flood-related damage.
Originally planning only a deck replacement, the team quickly realized that a full bridge replacement using InQuik’s modular, pre-engineered system would be more cost-effective and disaster resilient.
After the foundation was completed, the District 1 maintenance crew installed the InQuik system in just five days. The design used corrosion-resistant GalvaBar and was entirely cast-in-place, resulting in an integral, flood-proof structure that ensures community access while reducing long-term maintenance costs.

A Fresh Look at Concrete Pavements and Concrete Overlays for County Highways
County engineers are regularly tasked with building and maintaining a large pavement network within budgetary constraints, which can lead to a cycle of relying on shorter-term solutions that fit the budget, but may not keep the network at a high level of service in the long run. While some counties may not have significant experience with concrete pavements and concrete overlays, these solutions can deliver good long-term performance for county highways while being highly cost-effective over the full pavement life cycle. This presentation will review how concrete pavements can and have been utilized as a solution for county roads to extend the pavement life and minimize long-term maintenance and rehabilitation needs. It will also cover a case study of a concrete overlay that was constructed on an accelerated timeline with enhanced access for local traffic, renewing an old roadway on an expedited timeline while minimizing construction impacts on the local community.

Efficient Counties, Massive Savings – Technologies for Data-Driven Road Management
The challenge of maintaining road networks with limited budgets and resources is more pressing than ever. Traditional inspection and maintenance planning methods can be time-consuming, labor-intensive, and reactive rather than proactive.
This webinar will introduce two cutting-edge technologies that are reshaping road management: RoadAI and Wx Horizon.
- RoadAI uses computer vision to deliver objective, real-time assessments of pavement conditions and roadway assets—captured with just a smartphone. This enables more frequent, cost-effective data collection, helping you prioritize maintenance based on up-to-date data.
- Wx Horizon provides hyperlocal, reliable weather forecasts tailored to your road network. By integrating road weather intelligence into winter maintenance, counties can optimize winter operations, drastically reduce unnecessary treatments, and improve safety.
Join us to see how these tools enable data-driven decision-making, increase operational efficiency, and generate significant cost savings for county road departments.
