Don't get out of Dodge, Move in! Help Guy Kohlnhofer retire!

Dodge County is accepting applications for a full-time County Engineer.  This position directs the operation and provides professional engineering services for a highway department responsible for planning, design, construction and maintenance of the county road system, county state aid system, and oversees the township bridge system

Here is your opportunity to work in a rural county situated between the 3rd and 39th most populace cities in Minnesota.  You get to work in a rural area and still have easy access to the entertainment and night life of large cities and if you want to venture to the Minneapolis Twin Cities area it is a mere 60 miles away.

Dodge County is home to just over 20,000 folks.  Most are friendly and easy to talk to.  The County Boards for at least the last 27 years have always been easy going solid folks with no drama.  They don’t spend much time on social issues but stick mostly to the basics of what government was intended to do.  And then there’s the office staff.  They are knowledgeable, polite and as easy going as it gets.

Housing is not a problem. There are many new developments in and around Dodge County and western Rochester as well as many rural homes with acreage that allow you to hunt trophy deer and turkey right out of your bedroom window. And if you have or are planning little ones, the schools in the area (particularly Kasson & Byron) are tops in the state.  For the health side of things all I need say is Mayo Health Clinic.  Not only the best place in the Midwest (possibly the world) for health care it is also an awesome place for a spouse or partner to work.
