American Traffic Safety Services Association
&
National Association of County Engineers
Cooperative Agreement
Purpose

The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) and the National Association of County Engineers (NACE) agree to work together to improve the safety of local roads and bridges of the nation's county government agencies and the public we serve.

Goals and Objectives

Ensure effective communications between ATSSA and NACE at all levels. This would be promoted at the national headquarters as well as at each of the NACE 29 state affiliates and 19 ATSSA chapters/affiliates.

  • Encourage joint meetings of each organization’s state chapters and affiliates.
  • Encourage joint activities supporting work zone safety, national transportation week, and other safety oriented programs in national and regional locations.
  • Work together nationally on common legislative or regulatory positions such as the reauthorization of TEA-21.

Promote communication to and education of ATSSA and NACE members to better understand each other’s missions, roles, products and programs.

Explore the mutual development of new and cross promotion of existing technical publications and training materials, which expand the knowledge and professionalism of our members. Offer member pricing to each organization’s members to purchase products, publications and training.

Invest in the future by promoting continuing education, research and development, and innovative ways to include a safety component in planning, designing, constructing, maintaining, and operating transportation infrastructure and equipment assets.

This cooperative agreement provides a framework for action and guidelines for interaction at all levels between ATSSA and NACE.

This agreement shall remain in effect until terminated by either party through written notice to the other party.
