The grade of Life Member may be granted to an individual who has been an active Individual Member in good standing for a minimum of fifteen years, or has served NACE as an officer or member of the Board of Directors, and has retired from active participation in County Engineering or the equivalent thereof. Any Life Member who returns to work with a county shall be carried as a Voting Member while thus employed and shall be required to pay Voting Member dues to maintain his membership.
To become a NACE Life member:
Submit a letter of request stating your years as NACE member/qualifications and your personal address to the NACE Board of Directors for review (submit to the NACE office address). The NACE Board meets during the NACE annual conference (March-April timeframe) and the NACo annual conference (mid-July). Choose the Board meeting closest to your retirement date even if it's before the actual retirement date. The Board will review your qualifications and vote on approval. Afterwards you will be notified by the NACE office of the Board's decision on your membership status.
