Coalitions

The National Association of County Engineers (NACE) is a member of the following two national coalitions:

ROADWAY INFRASTRUCTURE SAFETY COALITION (RISC):
The general purpose of the Roadway Infrastructure Safety Coalition (RISC) is to work towards reducing the number of deaths on America’s roadways by improving roadway safety infrastructure through the federal legislative, budget, and regulatory processes. RISC will primarily accomplish this goal through outreach activities to federal policy makers and by building working relationships with roadway safety partners in the public and private sectors.

The Local Officials for Transportation (LOT) Coalition
The Local Officials for Transportation (LOT) Coalition was created to give local officials a stronger voice in influencing national transportation policy and help take a leading role in the reauthorization of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21). The LOT Coalition is currently developing its positions for the new authorization to replace SAFETEA-LU.
